Electoralism 2008 Posters

The Posters

These posters were written in response to the overwhelming cult of election-worship that preceeded the 2008 United States presidential election. People were likening Obama to a saint, and others McCain to the war hero he never was. These posters are certainly Halloween-themed, but hopefully that does not distract from the notion that politians, and all those that seek to have power over us, in order to "represent" or "help" us, are the monsters.

In late 2008, there was such a frenzy over the two major political parties, over the hiccup of Capitalism exhibited in the financial sector, and the general obsession with the supposedly superior democracy of the United States that nobody acted for real change. Nobody acted for real justice. Nobody acted at all. We were too distracted by the electoral spectacle.

Printing

For ideal reproduction, your printer should be able to print close to the edge of the paper, and accept paper of size 11 inches by 17 inches (ledger or tabloid). (Some printers have "edge-to-edge" off by default. Make sure to enable this if possible.) If you cannot print at 11 inches by 17 inches, shrinking the PDF to fit your paper size will work, although it is formatted for 11x17-proportioned paper. Otherwise, do no resizing.

Tools

Scribus, GIMP and Inkscape were the only special tools I used (aside from a PDF-viewer, Firefox, etc...). The Plural and Neuter pseudonym is written in Nimbus Sans L. Electoralism is in Akzidenz Grotesk Roman Bold.
